Sick Day

I'm not feeling so good today. I've been fighting off a cold now for a few days, but I think the cold is winning. I wanted to call in sick for work today, but that's not my style, so here I am. I only have to work until 1, then I can go home and relax/study/call pt's. Dave woke up at 5:30 this morning to go to the gym with Bobby. He's been doing so good with running and sit-ups and push-ups, he'll be looking good in no time at the rate he's going. He then mowed Subway's lawn and was off to a golf tournament for Tony Divino. He is one busy boy. He works so hard all of the time and I'm so proud of him. He didn't even get off of work until 11:40 last night. We have Christy set up on a blind date on Saturday. I haven't seen the boy yet, but he's 6'5" so Dave thinks it's a good idea. I finally got to talk to Mar last night which was so good because I hadn't talked to her for over a month since she's been in Europe. Work has been killing me lately and I want to quit, but I can't because we are already short-handed. It's just been so hard because I have to be in clinic from 7:30am until 4:30pm and then I'm scheduled to work at 4:45pm. I pretty much just change my clothes while driving. After clinic I'm always so tired, stressed, and brain dead so it's really hard to just go straight to work.
I'm a teacher's assistant in 1st year clinic this semester which has been really fun. It makes me feel really smart to know everything that these girls are struggling to remember. I walked into the locker room after clinic the other day and one of my girls was telling another girl how cool I am and how much I helped them. That made me feel really good, all my dreams come true.
For Labor Day, Dave and I met Auty and Jeff and some of his friends up at Brock's cabin in Idaho. No one really talked to each other and no one wanted to play games so Dave and I left early and came home to see my family. While we were at my parent's house, CJ and Brent came home in a panic because Brent had taken a bad spill off the longboard and was all cut up. We ended up taking him to the ER to get his wounds cleaned and bandaged and to get a tetanus shot. Good times.
San Diego with Dave's fam was so fun!! I loved it there. The weather was perfect and the house was beautiful. We shopped a lot, went to Sea World and Universal Studios, played at the beach and boogie boarded (Dave surfed), and swam in the pool at the house, I loved the hot tub. We also had the opportunity to do a session at the San Diego temple with Dan and Marky and then we did sealings. I loved playing with Owen everyday. He is a little monster, but he is so cute and polite that it makes it ok. We stayed in the Aloha room which was decorated so cute, but the bed was only full size and my feet hit the foot board and Dave kept elbowing me. King size bed is the only way to go. Dave had a funny experience one night while we were there, you'll have to ask him about it because he might not like me posting his embarrassing stories online.
I'm really tired and I've got a paper to write so I better wrap this up.
I miss summer already, but it will be good to finish up school and move on with life.
Love, Joni

Parking Pass my A6!

Today has been a long day!! It started with hanging out with Auty and Jeff until about 1:30am when Dave kicked them out of our house cuz' he was ready for some sleep. The problem is I wasn't tired and I was so nervous about getting a parking pass that I couldn't sleep. I got up and showered and sanded some of the cabinet and I still wasn't tired. I woke Dave up to help me. He gave me great advice. He told me not to think about it, and just like that I was asleep, but not for long. I had to be to the school by 5:30 to wait in line for a parking pass. That dang parking pass has caused major heartache for me this week. I was all excited to get a parking pass because this year the seniors got priority on buying passes. Anyone with 90+ credit hours got to be the first to buy passes which would pretty much guarantee me a front row A6 pass. Unfortunately, WSU is retarded and things never go that smoothly. I found out on Wednesday that I was not on "the list" of seniors because I hadn't registered for Fall semester when they printed "the list." I was so raging pissed off. I called the supervisor who claimed there was nothing she could do about it. Then I had Autumn call the lady because Auty is better at confrontation. After Auty had shut down every excuse of why I couldn't be added to the list the lady said, "I'm just not going to do it," and hung up. What a beast!! I was so frustrated but I didn't know who else to talk to so I was stuck. Turns out about 6 other girls in hygiene with me were in the same situation. Only 2 of us ended up with passes. It's pretty ironic that I got one, because I totally shouldn't have. I had waited in my place at the end of the line for 3 hours by myself. Right before they were going to start selling passes to our line I went to try to get a senior wrist band because I figured it would be worth a good fight. They were done giving out senior wrist bands so I joined the revolt of people at the head of the line who were all riled up about having to sleep outside all night when seniors just got to show up at 8:00 and get a pass right away. That's when it happened. They started handing out wrist bands to us and there was no way I was heading back to my place in line just to not get a parking pass. Kristy Barney and I both asked for A6, but they were out, but then 2 girls in line in front of us decided they didn't want A6 so they cut off their wrist bands and gave the very last 2 A6 parking passes to us. What a blessing. I can't believe I got the very last pass. AMAZING!! It was 10am before we left the school and then I took Kristy to her house in Roy to get her keys, then back to the school. I then met Auty at my house and we went to the mall to get CJ a b-day present. We're getting her a long board from Zumiez, but they didn't have any good ones at Newgate so after work we're going to Layton. I bought 2 cute sweaters and a hoodie from American Eagle and a dress shirt from Express. We picked up Chick-Fil-A and Auty dropped me off at work cuz' I was running really late. I love shopping, it is so fun and I needed new school clothes, right?! I'm pretty tired now from only getting 2 hours of sleep. I need more Diet Coke :) Dave is working the early shift today so he should be off by 6, I'll keep my fingers crossed. We might go to the Demolition Derby at the fair tonight, but I'm pretty tired and Dave has 2 lessons to prepare for tomorrow, so that might not happen. We went to the fair last night and I reminisced about when I did a lamb for 4-H and won Grand Champion for showmanship.
I'm dreading going back to school big time, but I can deal with it. I'm so glad I have CA to look forward to a week from today. I'll at least have a nice tan for school. It seems that I've just wasted this summer, but it has been so wonderful, I wouldn't trade it for anything.
My goal for this week is to sand and stain my kitchen cabinets because that was my summer goal and summer is over. I've been warned that it is a ton of work, but I can totally handle it.

Happy 2-Year Anniversary

June 23, 2007
It has seriously been the best 2 years. For our anniversary Dave brought me lunch at work with 3 red roses (ah, cute). When I got home from work there was a huge bouquet of 2 dozen more red roses. Dave always spoils me because he is cute like that. He wrote a poem for me and gave me a new Juicy Couture (key to his heart) charm, which I love. I was going to get him Kenny tickets, even though we said no gifts, but of course he got them free so I ended up giving him nothing. Bad wife. That night we ate at our favorite place, The Old Spaghetti Factory at Trolley Square. Then we went to Les Miserables. Dave loved it, I liked it. We had a really good time together and I'm so glad that I met Dave because he has brightened my world!!

I Never Wanted Nothing More!!

On June 28, Toyota sponsored the Kenny Chesney concert at Usana Amphitheater. That is where Dave and I had our 1st date so I was planning to suprise Dave with tickets for our anniversary. Since it was sponsored by Toyota we got free tickets and free dinner at the show. It was seriously such a great concert. It reminded me of our 1st date and how great that was. Nicole Divino snuck us into their suite right up front and center. We just stood the whole time singing and dancing our hearts out. So fun!! Kenny is hot and he is such a good performer. We went to the Tim and Faith concert with Tesha and Tyler on June 11, at the Delta Center. Tickets were $100 bucks each and it pretty much sucked. They don't really play to the audience that well and they sang a bunch of covers. Kenny did no covers :)because everyone comes to hear all of his hits since he has so many. Dave and I have agreed to go to every Kenny concert from now on because we love him so much.
Just Another Day In Paradise!!

Today has been a busy, good day so far. We woke up at 6am and mowed Subway's lawn (we mow the lawn and eat for free almost everyday, it's a pretty good deal). Then we went to WSU's gym for an hour and a half:) I really do love the gym. I always feel so good after. Then we had to do the most dreaded job of all...duh...duh...duh-Mow our own lawn. Boo!! We hate doing that cuz it takes so long, and it's so hot, and our lawn is so bad that nothing really helps it so it feels like a complete waste of time. Everytime we do it we say, "We should hire someone to do this." But then we realize that it would be atleast $100 a month and we are both able-bodied so that would be really lazy and wasteful. After we finished the lawn and got cleaned up we had a little time to just hang out and relax together, that's my favorite time. Then Dave was off to work by noon and I had to work at 1:15. I got my favorite sandwich at Subway for lunch. I've eaten this same delicious sandwich for 11 months now and I'm not too sick of it yet. 6" veggie on wheat toasted with oil and oregano. Avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, green pepper, spinach, sweet onion sauce, and a little mayo. It's delicious. Of course, I still love the occasional turkey, but I try to stick to fit for life whenever possible. I've kept way busy here at work today just getting my own stuff done. I hope Dave is having a good day. We're going to the dam tomorrow because we both have the same day off on a fluke, I'm way excited!
Sunday July 8
I slept in until 12:15, Dave had to wake up around 10 to prepare his Elders Quorem lesson (of course he waited til the last minute and probably taught an amazing lesson, he's good like that). Auty taught relief society and did a great job. The lesson was about being obedient based on your faith. I really felt the spirit and know how important it is to be obedient. Faith without works is dead. During Sunday school we got our temple recommends renewed. After church we went to my parents for a delicious dinner and then just hung out. Dave and I went for a walk and ended up at the Manning's for an hour talking. I never see Tiff anymore so it was really good to see her again and Tyson is so tall and cute (he's almost 2). We are going to the drive in with them on Tuesday. We were supposed to have game night with all of the friends but I never heard from Auty so I don't know what happened with that.
Saturday July 7
Dave and I both worked. I was supposed to go to the dam when I got off at 5, but it was too windy so I just relaxed at home until Dave got off. We went to Jeff and Auty's and watched the Sixth Sense cuz Jeff had never seen it. I love that movie, it's creepy yet good. I normally hate scary movies.
Friday July 6
Dave and I both worked, after I just went and hung out with Christy at her house. We went over to Tesha's later and just hung out.
I love the 4th of July!

It is always such a fun day. I was slightly disappointed that we didn't get to do our Lava tradition, but I realize that as we all get older it will keep getting harder and harder to get everyone together at one time and one place. Dave went golfing with my dad and Jeff Fowers in the morning and I just hung out and got ready for the day. Dave managed to get 47 free tickets to Stadium of Fire from Toyota. The tickets were normally $45 each, so we were very lucky. It would have costed us $2,115 , what a deal!! My family met at our house at 4:30 to commute down to Provo. I rode with Dave, Kirk, Becky, and Francie. It was nice, but I was sad I didn't get to sit by Dave in the car, I love that boy! We stopped in American Fork to eat at Rib City-Dave's request-it was pretty good. Dave loves that place because Russ Nielson, his favorite person/boss/mentor, took him there after golfing last year. The traffic to the stadium was out of control, but when we finally got there we were able to park in the stadium parking lot. There were some random performances, then Brookes and Dunn performed, they were really good. Too bad Dave and I were in a stupid fight at the time so neither of us could enjoy it. We made up within half an hour and the rest of the night was great. The fireworks were out-of-control awesome. There were fireworks I had never seen before and they went on forever. When it was all over we just hung out for a while to allow traffic to die down (which it didn't). Dave got a picture with Isaac C. Singleton Jr., who was the air marshal on Anger Management and the black pirate on Pirates of the Carribean. I laughed my head off because I swear Dave put his hand on Isaac's chest and laid his head on his shoulder (atleast that's what it looked like from a distance). We didn't get home until around 1:30 am. Late night, but fun. There were tons of us there, which made it way fun, but hard to talk to everyone. Dan was supposed to have a BBQ that night, but when he found out we had free tickets he just invited everyone to Stadium of Fire. Dave & Joni, Ina & Gordon, Christy & Jake Pruitt, Blair & Kelcy, Jordan & Courtney, Kirk & Becky, Andrew & Trinity, Kyle & Sheena, Dan & Marky, Kevin & Becky & Becky's mom, Brandy & Austin, Karly & Curtis, Francie, Jake M. & date, Burrell & the Henderson girl, Derek & Jaime, Bobby & the pregnant Heidi, Auty & Jeff, Jan & Bishop Don Fowers, and whoever else I may be forgetting. I left tickets at will call for cousin Mark and his 2 friends, but they got there too late and will call was closed.

Let's make it a DAM DAY!!

For the 4th of July we had planned to go camping to Lava like we always do and go tubing down the river, but everyone backed out so we had to change our plans. Since Dave and I had July 3 off, we decided to go up to Pineview and go out on the waverunner and hang out on the beach. Dave had to go into work in the morning for about an hour to get some stuff taken care of. We headed to my parents around 10:30 to get the waverunner. We were up to the dam by about 12:15. We met Becky, Andrew, and Mindy there. It was a perfect day just to lounge and play in the water. The waverunner kept stalling, most likely due to faulty spark plugs, but we played on it all day. It was so fun to see Mindy again cuz I hadn't seen her forever. We ate Subway and got tan (Joni) and burned (Dave). Autumn and Jeff came to meet us around 6. It was so fun, I can't wait to go up again. We left around 8pm to head to the drive in, but that got cancelled so we ended up watching a movies at my parents with all the friends. Good, tiring day.

Our First Post

We have been having the best summer ever and pretty much the best life ever. It's hard to decide where to start when there is so much to blog about. I suppose I should start with today and work my way back.
As of now I am working at Credit Union Service Center in Riverdale as a teller. Usually we are pretty slow here so I have plenty of time to do other stuff. The only time I don't like it is when I don't have "other stuff" to do. Blogging is one thing that I like that takes up time, so that's why I plan to get a lot if it done here while at work. This job will be great when school starts because they totally work around my schedule and there is plenty of time to study. I wasn't planning to get a job during school, but my friend Candice Norris who was a year ahead of me in school and was in my ward told me about this job and said it was great for school. I'm kind of glad I got a job, otherwise I'd probably be pretty bored by now, but probably not. Summer has been very busy for me, lots of fun!!
This morning I woke up at around 10am and then I did some random chores. Then I studied 1 Nephi 19 which was good. It talked about the purpose of the Book of Mormon and why some people can get a lot out of the Book and others think it's a huge waste of time. Then I went to WSU's gym and worked out for an hour and a half:) I love working out, I'm just too lazy to do it sometimes. I was really proud of myself today, it was cardio only day so I did 65 minutes on the elliptical that's 6 miles and 750 calories. It wasn't even that bad, I actually enjoyed sweating to my ipod. Then I did abs superset. I'll be fit in no time, which is good cuz Cali is only 6 weeks away. I then showered and shined and off to work I went.
Dave on the other hand hasn't had such a good, relaxing day. He was supposed to work late today which means he would start at noon, but he had general sales meeting at 8:30 in the morning and he was in charge of picking up breakfast, so he was out of the house by 8am. He then had manager's meeting at 10:30, so there was no time for him to relax. I feel so bad for Dave. He won't get off tonight until around 10:30. That's a 14 hour day. He works so hard all the time. He usually works about 10 hour days without a break. They are real slave drivers at Tony Divino, but they also pay him very well and let him drive a brand new truck for free, so I guess we can't complain. At around 1:30, Dave had to go to Provo with some other guys to pick up 7 trucks that had been alotted to the dealership. He then came to visit me at work and to pick up the Subway that I had got for him. He looked so cute. He wears a shirt and tie everyday, and he looks so cute! I'm so proud of him and love him so much!
I'm getting off work at 7:15 then I'm probably just going to go home to wait for Dave to get off. That's my life, always waiting for Dave to get off.
